How can I pay for my sessions?

6/28/2021 Susan accepts Venmo for payment. She will not have a land line for a credit card machine. She may seek an alternate credit card payment application/technology.

How hard is it to get an appointment at Cardwell Counseling?

Susan is currently not accepting new clients without prior discussion with your referral source. Susan will be offering a hybrid model of counseling moving forward with limited FaceToFace sessions and the majority of the sessions using Telehealth services. All decisions regarding mode will be made on an individual basis.

Additionally, Susan will no longer accept referrals specifically for the purpose of child custody concerns which includes accepting referrrals from attorneys. Susan is not a forensic counselor with specialized skills.

Primary insurance companies require providers to offer appointments within a certain time period depending on client needs. Contract and Private Pay clients are given equal consideration for those time frames. The majority of clients are offered an intial session within 72 hours of their request.

What if I can't get to my appointment?

Call within 24 hours of your scheduled appointment and leave a message. You may be charged full fee for less than 24 hour notice of cancellation. 6/28/21 Clients will be charged full fee for non-cancelled appointments for FaceToFace appointments due to the limited availability.

Do you offer any other kind of counseling other than Cognitive Therapy?

"Unconditional Positive Regard" is the most basic idea we learn in college when meeting clients. It means accepting the person for who they are, where they are in life, and what they're bringing into the session. No matter what counseling theory is used, Cardwell Counseling is a safe place to learn about yourself, set goals, work hard, and make progress.  Beck Institute research shows that recovery from mood disorders, schizophrenia, and personality disorders is possible. Following these data The Institute is teaching a Cognitive Therapy-Recovery model. I began learning the model with treatment for people with schizophrenia and the model is effective for folks with other diagnosis. I enjoy educating and collaborating with clients.
